GARBAGENEWS. The French Kristina Mladenovic has upset the odds by eliminating seeded No. 1, the Spanish Gabrina Muguzura. The 15th edition of the Grand Prix SAR Princess Lalla Meryem tennis reached Wednesday at the Royal Tennis Club of Marrakech, her second round. Unlike the previous, this round was marked by a few surprises, including the elimination of seeded Garbine Muguruza 1 facing the French Kristina Mladenovic.

After qualifying and a first generally predictable round, the second round of the Grand Prix Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem tennis has reserved some surprises in Wednesday at the Royal Tennis Club of Marrakech. The Italian Flavia Pennetta (seeded N 3) has, meanwhile, needed two hours and 19 minutes to defeat another German, Laura Siegmund (qualifier), with a score of 2 sets to 1 (4-6, 6-1, 6-3). 

The Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, 4th place seeding, initially had trouble facing the American Christina Mchale, before moving to the next level and win the match by 2 net sets (7-5, 6- 3). Moreover, the Hungarian Timea Babos, who had managed to dislodge seeded No. 5 Tuesday (Germany's Mona Barthel), continues to stand after ruling the Brazilian Teliana Pereira by 2 sets to 1 (6-0, 6 -7, 6-4). Finally, two other seeded players have surrendered Wednesday in Puerto Rican Monica Puig namely (8th), defeated by Lara Arruabarrena by 2 sets to 0 (7-5, 6-2) and Italy's Roberta Vinci (6th) , which sold the ticket to her compatriot Karin Knapp.
