Part victims of "silent post", partly simply outdated: There are many myths that have grown up around but not smartphones or are no longer tenable. Or do you think some truth that you always have to discharge the battery completely before charging it again? We often point to widespread misbelief.
The higher the specifications, the better the device
Unfortunately a fallacy: A higher number in the specification does not necessarily mean a better device. Best and most recent example are extremely high display resolutions: While the higher pixel density of a certain level for the (free) human eye is no longer recognizable, it can quickly suck the battery unnecessarily. For an effect, from which the user therefore does not benefit, it will be "punished" with a lower battery life. But the most prominent example remain the megapixels of cell phone cameras. Higher resolution means alone namely far better camera quality.
Batteries are completely discharged
This myth is snow from yesterday. To do so knowing that the technology has changed to: In times of NiMH batteries (nickel metal hydride) this might still have been true because the batteries were very sensitive mainly due to the memory effect. Today they are almost only lithium-ion batteries in use, which are nearly immune to such effects. When you thus recharges, does not matter and has no effect on the life span.
Brightness sensor saves energy
How convenient: The brightness sensor on a smartphone automatically adjusts the brightness of the display to the ambient light, saving even electricity. Unfortunately not: In the normal case, the activated brightness sensor namely more energy than he can save for display needs. It is best therefore to manually adjust a moderate brightness with which you can handle.
Avoid applications in the background
Applications or apps that run in the background, cost performance and battery life. That's not quite: Because both Android and iOS applications now allocate in the background a kind of limit, so determine how many may do this a maximum in the background. It is in any case also ensure that enough memory remains free to supply active applications in the foreground. Emergency storage is automatically cleared. WiFi and Bluetooth hurt the battery life

The truth is: The business you do nowadays hardly with smartphones, but with the accessories. Why a compatible power supply from a reputable manufacturer is supposed to be worse than an overpriced firsthand can otherwise justify also difficult. Only at too cheap charging stations should be taken a bit of healthy skepticism. The expensive original it really need not be, however.
